Politicians in Jos-North/Bassa Local Government Areas (LGAs), who are making moves to contest for Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency of Plateau State, may need to have a rethink, as huge eligible voters in the constituency have stated urging, Hon. Jonathan Dabo, to brace up to re-contest for the vacant seat.
You would recall that, Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency of Plateau State, became vacant at the National Assembly, owing to the sudden death of late Hon. Haruna Maitala in an accident recently.
REALITY gathered that, several groups have continued to pay courtesy call on, Hon. Jonathan Dabo, at his residence in Jos, urging him to vie for the vacant seat on the ground that, “he still remains popular and acceptable to the people”.
In their opinion, while urging the former Chairman of Bassa LG and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election for Hon. Dabo to brace up, youths under the aegis of “Better Representation for Jos-North/Bassa”, led by one Markus John, has encourage him that, “his victory in the past would not be in vain, as they are determined to resuscitated it to prove a point.
As at the time of putting up this report, there are over 10 persons in Bassa LGA that have declared their intention to vie for the vacant seat with the aim of putting Hon. Dabo out of the race permanently.
