PDP CENTRAL ZONE CONGRESS: MANTU, USENI VOTED—INVESTIGATION. I RESPECT THEM—HON. TIMOTHY GOLU

The North Central Zone Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), may have come and gone, but its effect on the party, may have settled a lot of lingering issues in its Plateau State chapter, among others.

The Congress, which held in Benue State, Nigeria, saw respected personalities and dignitaries like, the former governor of Plateau State, Sen. Jonah Jang, Sen. Jeremiah Useni, Sen. Ibrahim Nasiru Mantu among others casting their votes at the venue.

Others at the venue include, Hon. Timothy Golu, Hon. Amos Gombi, Sen. I. D. Gyang, Hon. Solomon Maren, Barr Olivia Dazyam, Hon. Raymond Dabo, Hon. Emmanuel Go’ar and Hon. Chris Hassan

Outside Plateau State, dignitaries like, former Senate Presidents, Sen. David Mark and Sen. Bukola Saraki, Sen. Gebrial Suswam, His Excellency, Babangida Aliyu, BOT Chairman Sen. Walid Jibrin, among others, were at the venue.

According to REALITY investigation, all went well at the Congress, as several issues were determined and settled by the elders and senior stakeholders of the zone before, during and after the elections aimed at electing principal officers to man the affairs of the party at the North Central Zone level.

In an interaction with Mr. Kafas Sumdi, the Personal Assistant (PA) on Media and Protocol to the Plateau State Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan, yesterday, he disclosed to REALITY that, the Congress went well and those that were eligible to vote, voted.

He said, “Quote me, if anybody comes to tell you that delegates from Plateau did not vote, tell him I said he is a liar! The members of PDP from Plateau state were so organized despite the challenges we met on ground”.

A further insight into the event, REALITY gathered that, of all the aggrieved members from Plateau State chapter at the venue, who are still angry, over the emergence of the new leadership in the state led by Hon. Chris Hassan, only, Sen. Ibrahim Mantu and Sen. J.T. Useni voted.

It was also revealed that, the submissions of Sen. Ibrahim Mantu, after consulting with Sen. Useni and Sen. Jang among others, gave a closed door situation to the disagreements in the state chapter.

Hon. Michael Dapialong was dropped in the contest for the National Vice Chairman, North Central Zone and Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan, emerged unopposed.

In a telephone interview with, Hon. Timothy Golu, the former member of the House of Representatives, then representing the good people of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam (PKK), he lauded the submission of, Sen. Ibrahim Mantu and the approach he took in putting Plateau image in the front line.

He also accorded respect to, Sen. Jang and Sen. Useni, for their maturity and leadership qualities, which they displayed to all.

He said, “You would be surprised by these men of Honour, if you were there. Especially, in the way and manner they sat together, smiling and laughing and how they resolved the chapter’s issues at the venue. Their action has proved to me and others that, they are not the problem of the chapter.

“Sen. Ibrahim’s submission that gave an open gate for Dakas’ candidacy is a World Class Speech, delivered by World Class Personality.

“I respect these elders!”
