NORTHERN PDP CRISES: WITH, SEN. SULEIMAN NAZIF, PLATEAU IS RESOLVED, HOPE FOR KANO, YOBE

By: Valentine Adese (JP),

With the sudden appearance of Sen. Suleiman Nazif, the National Deputy Chairman, North, on board, the fortunes, unity and internal democracy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has began to shown signs of improvement and sustainability.

Also, the hope for a stronger unity of members of the party, especially, in the northern part of the country is even becoming more promising, looking at the pattern and passion being introduced to achieve that purpose by the Deputy National Chairman, Sen. Nazif, who was recently appointed and approved by National Working Committee of the party, as the Deputy National Chairman, North, in November, 2019, in furtherance of section 47 (6) of the Constitution of the PDP.

When all members had lost hope that the leadership issues rocking the Plateau State chapter of the party would be irresolvable after several protracted efforts had failed, the sudden intervention in the matter by Sen. Nazif, within two (2) months (January-February, 2020), saw the “derailing evil” collapsing and giving way for love and peace in the chapter, as members have reunited and seen, hugging one another, few days ago.

It was therefore not surprising that, members of the Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had reasons to hail the party’s Deputy National Chairman, North, Sen. Sulieman Nazif, for his efforts in resolving the months-long leadership tussle that has rocked the chapter and had created disunity and disloyalty among members in the state during the period it lasted.

You would recall that, the leadership tussle in Plateau chapter of the PDP has been an issue before the National Working Committee (NWC) for months before the emergence of Sen. Nazif.

The ability of Sen. Nazif to resolve issues and the time he took to look inwards and do the needful in such a manner that even those, who may have betrayed the party in one circumstance or the other, may still willingly stay back to learn their lessons and payback for their probable greedy actions is commendable and gives a hopeful sign to resolve the disputes in its Kano and Yobe chapters, also in the northern part of the country.

It must be noted that, the new Deputy National Chairman, holds several Honorary Doctorate Degrees and Awards, both locally and internationally in addition to numerous traditional titles, which many believe are already gingering him (Sen. Nazif), to bring out his best in the current administrative challenges before him in the PDP.

You would recall that, REALITY had reported that, while expressing happiness over the resolving of the leadership crisis in Plateau State chapter, through the able intervention of Sen. Nazif, some members of the chapter and SEC in an interview, told REALITY that, “A man that has served as Chairman, Senate Committee on Labour and Productivity, as well as, Chairman, Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the duty to correct, redirect, rebuild and resolve the issues concerning Plateau State, is a small task, and so would be that of Kano and Yobe.”

Adding that, “Since we started honouring meetings with him at Abuja, we know from his actions that, he has Plateau chapter at heart and would want the PDP to own Plateau, Kano and Yobe States again. From his eyes, you can see his worries and disappointments. We are grateful that this issue of leadership that has bedeviled the chapter for so long was resolved through his intervention.”
