The last is yet to be hard of the 2019, election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency of Plateau State, as Appeal and Cross-Appeals have been filed at the Court of Appeal, Jos Division, challenging the decision of the 3-man, National and State Houses of Assembly Tribunal that sat in Jos, over Petition No. EPT/PL/NA/HR/10/2019, filed by Hon. Timothy Golu and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Aggrieved by part of the Decision of the Lower Tribunal and from the record of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Yufus Adamu Gagdi has filed a Notice of Cross-Appeal, dated, 29th September, 2019, and Cross-Appeal No. CA/J/EPT/PL/NA/HR/380/2019, containing Eight (8) Grounds.
You would recall that, on the 23rd of February, 2019, election into the office of Member, House of Representatives for Panksin/Kanke/kanam Federal Constituency was held.
In the said election, Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, who is now the Cross-Appellant, was Sponsored by the All Progressives Congress (APC), while Hon. Timothy Golu, who is the 1st Respondent in the Cross-Appeal, was sponsored by the 2nd Cross-Appeal Respondent, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The said election was conducted by the 4th Respondent, INEC, a body constitutionally assigned with the task of conduction elections in Nigeria.
Aggrieved by the outcome of the said election, the Appellant, Hon. timothy Golu, filed the petition, which gave rise to the Appeal on 17/3/2019, challenging the victory of the Cross-Appellants, Yusuf Gagdi and the APC.
