JOS-NORTH LGC ELECTION: THE CAMPAIGNS

With the campaign spirit now set in motion by the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, supporters of the party in the state, especially, in Jos-North Local Government Area (LGA) have started urging other contestants in other political parties, to drop their ambition and join hands with J.K. Chris (Esq), the Chairmanship candidate of the PDP for Jos-North Local Government Council (LGC).

Facts on ground already indicates that the PDP campaigns are more seen and visible across the 17 LGAs of the state, as the party’s campaign teams make efforts to reach the people at the grass-root.

Secondly, apart from the PDP and the Labour Party (LP), others are simply managing their desires within their offices, and displaying lack of confidence. 

In an interview with Engr. Samuel Ogijo, a PhD Student in Minna, Niger State, concerning his write up and opinion about Barr. J.K. Chris, he explained that his personal knowledge of Chris is that, “In a time when strong, transparent leadership is crucial for sustainable development in Jos-North, to the best of my knowledge, Chris would stands out as the ideal candidate to steer Jos-North Local Government Area (LGA) into a new era of progress. As a dedicated peoples’ servant, Chris has a rich history of leadership, having served top politicians in various youth leadership roles. His experience, commitment, and vision for the future make him uniquely qualified to lead Jos North LGA.

“I will therefore urge other contestants to give him a chance to do the needful. What Jos-North needs today is a young man with the capacity to lead and that has been tutored about the need for togetherness”.

Mr. Ogijo added that, “With a proven track record and the integrity that defines true leadership, Barr. Chris is the leader Jos North needs to bring about transformative change. The community deserves a chairman who understands its needs, and Bar. JK Chris is that leader”.

In the same thinking, Hon. Ahmed Abdullahi, a resident of Jos-North LGA, told REALITY that, he knows Barr. Chris, and understand his pains and love for Jos-North.

Abdullahi said, even with clear opportunities, Chris had rather opted to standby to offer advices to those in power. Secondly, he has a strong Legislative experience as a lawyer and can make Executive Orders for the unity and development of the Council and the Local Government.

“I therefore want to call on Jos-North people to come out en mass to vote for him not just because he is the candidate of the PDP on the 9^th of October 2024.

“Secondly, now that he has the flag of the PDP, I urge others to drop their ambition and embrace him. This is because, the recent elections conducted in the LGA and the history of the Local Government shows that, PDP rules”.
