NASARAWA: AGAIN, PRESIDENT TINUBU’S WIFE BOOSTS THE ECONOMIC STRENGTH OF RURAL WOMEN

By: Wilson Bako (Lafia),

In a bid to boost the economic strength of Rural Women in the country, the wife of Nigerian’s President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has shared the sum of Fifty Thousand (#50,000) Naira, to One Thousand (1,000) women, each in Nasarawa State.

In a message at the colourful ceremony held at Government House Lafia, Senator Oluremi, insisted and directed that the money is strictly meant for Rural Women, whom she said, “are the worst affected by the current economic downturn”.

Represented by the wife of the Nasarawa State Governor, Hajiya Silifaf Abdullahi Sule, Senator Oluremi, explained that the beneficiaries were drawn from the 13 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.

The President's wife further cautioned the rural women against diverting the money for any purpose that it is not meant for.

"This money is meant to boost your economic activities at this trying times and not to be channeled for a different purpose." She advised.

Senator Oluremi disclosed that similar gesture is also been extended to other states of the federation, while reaffirming government’s commitment at cushioning the effect of the current economic hardship been faced by Nigerians.

Our Correspondent at the venue of the event observed that the benefiting women were in a joyous mood, while commending the First Lady for coming to their rescue. They assuring her “that they would invest the money judicious”.

It would be recalled that the First Lady, sometime in June this year, disbursed food items worth millions of naira to a total of 1,200 persons, which included displaced persons and those living with disabilities, aimed at improving their wellbeing.
