BREAKING: PLATEAU STATE GOVERNOR, FORMALLY CLOSES DOWN, SAINT ACADEMY JOS, TO ARREST CITY MINERS

The Governor of Plateau State, Barr Caleb Mutfwang has personally visited Saint Academy where students were killed and others sustained several degrees of injuries because of the collapsed school building.

At the scene, the Governor disagreed and rejected the explanation of the Principal of the School that they were not aware of the danger because the build never showed any sign.

To enforce the States Executive Order 003, the Governor has closed down the school and order more investigation into the immediate and remote course(s) of the collapse.

Governor Mutfwang assured that the investigation would also extend to State Government Officials who approved the building among others.

Infuriated by the findings that mining activities beside the school could also be one of the causes of the collapse, the Governor has ordered the stoppage of City Mining, as he promised to give a fiat to the police to arrest any City Miner.

The Governor who spoke with multitude at the scene, later headed to various hospitals where the injured school students were receiving attention.

You would recall that the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Plateau State Council, had expressed its deepest condolences to the families who had lost their children, wards and loved ones in the collapse building.

Adding that “The Union is saddened that students who were writing their promotion examinations, and some teachers who were supervising same lost their lives in circumstances that were clearly avoidable if the right things had been done at the right time.

In the Union’s Press Statement made available to REALITY, signed by the Council’s Chairman, and Secretary, Ayuku Pwaspo and Mary Domtur respectively, the Council appreciated its members who defiled all odds t report the tragic incident in a professional manner, while praying for comfort for all citizens who are traumatized by the incident.
