NASARAWA: ETSU KARU MARKS 20 YEARS ON THE THRONE IN STYLE

The Chairman of Karu Traditional Council and Etsu Karu in Nasarawa State, Pharmacist Luka Panya has Baba marked his Twenty (20) years on the throne with a pledge to promote peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic groups in the Council and in the State as top priority.

The Traditional ruler, who was speaking at a colourful celebration in Karu as part of activities to mark the occasion, also promised to collaborate with other Traditional rulers in the country on the need to add their voices to the crusade of preaching things that would unite the people as a Nation rather than, to divide them.

He acknowledged that for the past Twenty years that he has been on the throne it had not been that rosy as he had to overcome so many challenges.

Adding that, he was only able to overcome most of the challenging tasks through a series of consultations and dialogues. 

The Etsu Karu said his efforts have finally paid off through the understanding of the people, as he has been able to remove all the thorns on the way to unity and has brought back people of different faiths and backgrounds together.

He told the gathering that the day was set aside to celebrate the gains so far recorded in the history of Karu Chiefdom. Adding that, “the occasion provides the people the opportunity to reflect on their past to celebrate the present and look forward with renewed hope and faith”.

 Pharmacist Luka Panya Baba commended both past and present administrations in the state for the keen interest they have shown in ensuring that peace reigns supreme in the state.

He appealed to Nigerians to support the administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to enable him to succeed in the great task of fixing the country's already battered economy.

In their speeches at the occasion, the   Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Sen. P. Adidas, among others who were conferred with Chieftaincy titles, further emphasized the need for Nigerians to unite for the progress of the Nation.

Over Twenty (20) Traditional rulers from various parts of the country were in attendance at the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Etsu Karu, with Twenty Seven (27) traditional dancing ethnic troops, invited from Plateau, Borno, Benue, Kaduna, Niger, and Akwa Ibom States were in attendance.
