The Nigerian Northern Governors Forum (NGF) has described the assassination of former Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak and another abduction of innocent citizens across Three (3) Local Government Areas of Niger State, as most unfortunate and totally condemnable.
Chairman of the Forum, who doubles as the Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, while reacting to the killing of Ahmed Gulak said, the sad event is a “criminal act” that must be condemned in totality.

Lalong said the killing of Gulak, must be seen as a criminal act and treated as such, “while warning against insinuations and politicization that could lead to further violence”.
According to NGF press release signed by, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor of Plateau State and Chairman, Northern Governors Forum, dated, 30th May 2021, Governor Lalong said, “the report by the police that it has identified and engaged the suspected killers of the late politician should further be consolidated upon to enable security agencies forestall future occurrence”.
The release also added that, “the Northern Governors Forum has also expressed disgust over yet another abduction of innocent citizens across Three (3) local Government areas of Niger State including, students and teachers of an Islamiya school”.
Governor Lalong said this horrible situation needs to be brought to an end in order to give respite for the people to engage in their legitimate activities without molestation.
He reiterated the commitment of the Forum in working with the security agencies and the Federal Government in tacking the ugly level of insecurity in the region and the nation at large.
For the purpose of facts and proper records concerning Governor Simon Bako Lalong’s projects in Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State, REALITY has decided to take the risk of investigating some palpable rumours on various social media platforms in order to bring more visible facts to the reading public and also set the record of the Lalong led administration straight.

The coming investigative report, which hopefully would be published, REALITY believes, would be able to give our readers and the general public, more grounds to make and take decision on the controversy.
From a frank view, Crispan Hotel in Rayfield, Plateau State is a classic and a direct replica of standard Hotels that can be found in any other cities like, Lagos, Port-Harcourt or the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
The Hotel has all the known first class facilities that would make a customer “feel at home, out of home”, and accompanied by the level of service delivery by the Hotel’s recruited professional staff, words cannot express the pleasure.
The Conference Halls in the Hotel and the space it has to accommodate huge numbers of cars, brings to mind, more of tourist attraction to the state.
The projected huge capital outlay for the project on the other hand, has attracted more of finger pointing to detect its rightful owner.
Many are of the opinion that, no other person than the class of a Minister, Governor or a Military General (serving or retired) would own Crispan Hotel.
Others are of the opinion that, no other person than the Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, would own such edifice and business, especially, with the economic and financial challenges been faced in the state and the country at large.
Investigation by REALITY reveals that, most visitors to the Hotel lately, only come to see and then package their disappointments, displeasure and insults on Governor Lalong.
Many have also question what value the business (Hotel) is adding to the masses in the state and the country at large, if actually it is owned by the state Governor.
The climax of these suspicions and assumptions came with the Constitutional Review Exercise recently conducted by members of the upper Chambers of the National Assembly at the Hotel.
For a fact, the exercise attracted the, “who- is- who” on the Plateau, among several others across the 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state and then, the rumour began to fly.

This caused REALITY, to dive deeper into investigating the untold stories surrounding “Crispan Hotel”.
However, for the level of insecurity and kidnappings in the state and the country at large, this paper has decided to keep away names from this publication.
The investigation reveals that:
The huge land space, on which the Hotel is built, was bought or acquired by the owner of Crispan Hotel, over Four years ago from its owner.
The land was bought below, Five Hundred Million Naira (Documents Available).
The Hotel was contracted to, designed and built by Three (3) blood brothers. One is an Architect. The second, a trained Engineer and the third, a bricks builder (Blocks) and dealer on building materials.
The Three of them have built houses for several top personalities in the country. REALITY can authoritatively state.
The owner of Crispan, is rich in Dollars, Pounds and Naira, to the tune of Billions and that, this Hotel in Plateau State, Rayfield, is one among the Seven (7) Crispan Hotels he has across the country of such standard, excluding abroad.
Treasure INN, which is now enveloped in the new structure, was bought with close to N250 Million some years ago from its owner, Jossy, years back.
The Hotel is adding value to the state, looking at its staff strength and the attraction of visitors it is currently pulling.
The Hotel is estimated to have cost close to N2.1 Billion at the state it is right now.
The investigation sought to find out how the Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong can pull out such capital outlay, from the state’s sources of finance, especially, with the knowledge that the state budget is annually running on deficit.
The out gone Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Jos District and Society, Mr. Issaac Wadak has successfully handed over to his successor, Mr. Ganan Wash Pam in a colourful ceremony.
While handing over the mantle of leadership, Mr. Isaac, used the opportunity to thank those, who had contributed to the success of his tenure and that of his EXCO.
His said, “In conclusion, we thank all those who contributed to our successes during the period of stewardship. Special thanks to the Chairman, Plateau State Internal Revenue Service, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Jos, the President and Chairman of Council members of CITN, among others for their support”.
The out gone Chairman, also took time to wish the income Executive Committee success in their tenure.
“For the incoming Executive Committee, I wish them well and assure them of our continuous support to enable them surpass our achievements for the growth of the district”. Isaac Wadak prayed.
You would recall that, Mr. Wadak and his Executive Committee came on board on 20th May, 2019, after a successful election and handover. They were however faced with the major challenges of Membership Mobilization, Office Accommodation, Attendance at meetings and prompt payments of subscriptions, from the last EXCO.
However, despite the daunting task faced during the period under review, Mr. Isaac Wadak and his EXCO, successful hosted the 2019 and 2020 MPTP, increased the number of License Chartered Tax Practitioners, increased the Numbers of Fellows of the Institute by five, namely – Mr. Isaac Wadak (FCTI), Alh. Abubakar Amusa (FCTI), Mr. Sam Pam (FCTI), Mr. Obi Ndaji (FCTI), Mr. Nelson Onowu (FCTI).

Isaac Wadak and his EXCO, also secured the approval for Jos, as an examination centre and the successful take off of the centre, which have seen the students partake in the April, 2020 diet and the April 2021 diet.
In furtherance to this, the out gone EXCO, were able to set up the Tutorial Unit headed by Mr. Reuben Dader, to assist the students. According to Mr. Wadak while rolling out the content of his Hand Over Note said, “This unit is doing well and needs to be sustained”.

Congratulating and commending the out gone Chairman of CITN and Jos District Society for a successful tenure in office, the Vice President CITN, Barr Samuel Adeluyi, said, “you did a lot within two years by getting Examination Centre for your District. You also ensured that a vibrant SWIT chapter was established during your tenure and your relationship with stakeholders in the state is outstanding.

To tackle the issue of membership we visited the Relevant Tax Authorities Tertiary Institutions, Tax Appeal Tribunal (North Central) Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigerian (ICAN), on advocacy visits. We had scheduled, Finance Committee, PLHA, ITF (Industrial Training Fund), Plateau State Chambers of Commerce and Industries for the advancement of the advocacy. Tour but was cut short by the COVID-19 in 2020. As a matter of fact, 2020 was uneventful as a consequence. The issue of office accommodation is still work in progress.

The acknowledgement of the formation of Jos Tax Practitioners forum. The forum is made up of our members who have obtained the CITN licence to practices as Chartered Tax Practitioners. The aim of the forum is “To ensure professionalism in the practice of Taxation as enshrined in the CITN Charter. The forum presently has 9 (nine) members and has Mr. Gbenga Damitan as its Interim Coordinator, they are part f the Jos Tax Practitioners forum is herein attached.
OUTSTANDING MATTERS/CHALLENGES
Office accommodation: as I mentioned earlier. This is work in progress.
Poor Attendance in meetings: This is at all levels (EXCO, Congress and Committee meetings.
Payment of Dues (both local and national): the Debtors’ List have been an issue of contention, with some members making various suggestions. I recommend a committee of paid up members be set up to look into this matter. The membership update forms were introduced as a measure to get an up-to-date membership list. This should be pursued to later. It will help.
Some issues raised in the 2017 and 2018 management Report of the Auditors are outstanding.
2021 MPTP (coming up in September, 2021) and the North Central Zonal Conference.
The challenges even though daunting, are not insurmountable.
In conclusion, we thank all those who contributed to our successes during the period of stewardship. Special thanks to the Chairman, Plateau State Internal Revenue Service, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Jos. The President and Chairman of Council members of CITN for their support.

Governor Simon Bako Lalong has called on civil society organizations to continue to partner Government in building and sustaining peace in the country.
Governor Lalong said this when a delegation from the Savannah Center for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development led by its Chairman, Ambassador Aminu Wali, paid him a courtesy visit.
Governor Lalong while responding on the main issues of the visit said, “Plateau State Government has entrenched a policy of engaging affected stakeholders on issues, to ensure its policies and laws addresses their needs or concerns”.
Adding that, the state government engaged stakeholders on open grazing for three years, to ensure they understand its challenges and to facilitate smooth implementation of its law.
Governor Lalong on the issue of Law said, “I told the State Assembly that, they should not pass this Law without public hearing, which is the final stage. It would protect us from the farmers/ herdsmen clashes”.
According to a Press Statement signed by, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor on the visit, dated, 26th May, 2021, the Governor explained that, “the engagement with stakeholders was to sensitize them on the hazards of open grazing, and the provisions of the law in addressing their health needs, education and other basic needs”.
Earlier, in his opening remarks on the visit, the team had advocated for a periodic review of Laws and policies in Nigeria, to ensure it meets the yearnings of its target population.
Aminu Wali, told Governor Simon Lalong that, the centre was established to conduct research, advocacy, training and policy analysis, in the area of conflict prevention, management, democracy and sustainable development in Nigeria.
He explained that research was critical to ensure that issues surrounding policies and laws that are implemented or about to be implemented are addressed, in order to ensure its success.
“The essence is to look and see whether these policies and perspectives go in consonance with the requirements and need of the community that is being served, and amend them where required to suit the needs of the people,” he said.
Aliyu said the center was organizing town hall meetings in Kaduna, Kano, Benue, Plateau, Kogi and Katsina states, in preparation for enacting policies and laws, to address the farmers and herders conflicts in across the country.
GOV. LALONG AND LAWMAKERS WHO VISITED
In another development, Members of the Senate Committee on Constitution Review for the North Central Zone holding in Jos Plateau State, visited Governor Simon Bako Lalong at the Government House Little Rayfield Jos, ahead of the Public hearing.
They were led by the Chairman of the Committee Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who intimated the Governor that, “they were in the State to conduct the hearing in order to get the input of the people of the zone towards the review of the 1999 Constitution”.
Governor Simon Lalong, while welcoming the Committee, reminded them that, “this is another reunion of the old Benue-Plateau State”. He said the people of the three States (Nasarawa, Benue and Plateau) remain eternal brothers and one people.
He expressed optimism that they will not only receive issues that are common to the people of the States, but also to the entire region.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome distinguished Senators of the Federal Republic to Plateau State for North Central Zonal Public Hearing on Proposed Alteration to the Provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 holding here in the beautiful city of Jos.
I want to thank the leadership of the 9th National Assembly particularly the Senate for not only embarking on this very critical assignment, but also choosing Plateau State to host the North Central Public Hearing. While we are not surprised by the choice of Plateau State, we are honoured to continue to play a very critical role in the democratic journey of our nation.
Distinguished Senators, and invited guests, we are gathered here for an assignment that is not new to Nigerians particularly since the return of democracy in 1999. While several attempts have been made in the past to alter the Constitution in line with the yearnings of the people, not much seems to have been achieved despite the resources spent and time devoted.
We hope that this particular exercise will not go the way of previous ones which failed to address some key issues affecting the governance of the nation and in some way even threatening the peace, security and unity of the country.
While it is not proper to blame all the challenges of the country on the Constitution, it is however important that concerns raised about the current constitution which is the grundnorm that, binds us together are addressed. This is even more so when the clamour have persisted and rather than abate, are getting lauder. This perhaps is the time to try something different.
To this end, this public hearing is very important as it presents another opportunity for various interest groups to present their perspectives as to how they desire to see Nigeria administered. They are therefore afforded this platform to ventilate and make submissions as to what they want injected or removed from the 1999 Constitution to make it more responsive to the yearnings of all.
Over the years, we have heard blames upon blames on how the 1999 Constitution is either, ineffective, lopsided, or inadequate in addressing key national issues. While some of these assertions may be exaggerated or even factual, the collective drive to take another look at the document with a view to making it better is a right step in the right direction.
This is more apt when Nigeria is today facing serious security and economic challenges that many tie to the 1999 Constitution. For instance, many believe that if the Constitution had provided for State Police, the level of crime and insecurity will not be as high as we are witnessing today. The same assertion goes for the economy where many feel the centre controls too much.
I am happy that these and more items have been listed for this public hearing aimed at generating views and submissions that will eventually lead to the birth of a people’s constitution that will address the yearnings and aspirations of the citizens.
Already, there are many issues in the court of public opinion which need to be addressed in this attempt to alter the 1999 Constitution. Many have raised concerns on the need to devolve more powers to the sub-national levels; enshrine Fiscal Federalism in revenue allocation; guarantee autonomy for all arms and tiers of Government; provide specific roles to traditional rulers; and strengthen electoral reforms to guarantee free, fair and credible elections among others.
Of course the much talked about issue of restructuring is also very much canvassed by different interests. This is the time to thoroughly deal with the matter and ensure that the agitations and anxieties being expressed are addressed.
However, we have to conduct the discussion on the review of the 1999 constitution within the context of the unity, stability, peace and progress of the Country. While we should have an open mind to every submission, we should also not be ignorant of the desire by some internal or external forces to destabilise our nation by pushing their interests under the guise of promoting constitutional review,
We have to realise that there is no constitution that will ever resolve all our challenges as a people who are diverse in ethnic, religious, political and tribal affiliations. In any case, the review of the constitution is a continuous exercise that will always arise in response to the demands of the times. What is important at the moment is to ensure that we work towards building national cohesion and stability.
As a Government, we have canvassed for policing that is grassroots-oriented which we believe will better address the current insecurity in the country. That is why we have embraced Community Policing which is a precursor to State Police. In addition, we have strengthened our Operation Rainbow which is backed by law and has helped us tremendously in tackling crime and insecurity in the State.
I want to use this opportunity to again condemn the barbaric and callous attack on innocent citizens which claimed the lives of many including women and children in Dong, Jos North LGA and Kwi, Riyom LGA. While we commend the efforts of our security agencies for responding to stop a de-escalation of the situation, we want the perpetrators fished out and dealt with. Hopefully, this Constitutional review should lead to better policing that is closer to the people to stop this of unacceptable murders.
On autonomy, our administration has also gone far with the implementation of autonomy for the Judiciary, Legislature, and the Local Governments even before the commencement of the strike by Judiciary and Legislative workers. We hope that other grey areas will be addressed through this public hearing so that the matter will be settled once and for all.
We also hope that the issue of Local Government Creation will also be dealt with during this exercise because we have just recently inaugurated the Committee on creation of development areas in the State to get the submissions of the people who have continued to yearn for closer government presence at the grassroots.
Let me use this opportunity as the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum to say that we have since set up committees on Restructuring, Role of Traditional Rulers, Engagement, with the Youths and even Economic Reforms of the Region. The reports of these committees will also be submitted to the Constitutional Review Committee for consideration.
I call on all citizens of Plateau State and other interest groups who have one position or the other to canvass to take advantage of this opportunity and articulate their positions rather than go about playing to the gallery or overheating the polity in the social or conventional media. We can only blame ourselves when we fail to avail ourselves of this platform only to continue complaining afterwards.
Your Excellencies, Distinguished Senators, I am very confident that with the caliber of personalities on the membership of this committee, the North Central Zonal public hearing will produce some of the best solutions to the current challenges of the nation.
I strongly suggest that we should use this opportunity to answer very critical questions about our nationhood. Who are we? Where are we and where are we going? How do we intend to get to our destination? What is our guiding philosophy as a people? We must be frank with one another and act with the best of intentions. That is the only way this exercise will make a difference and return our country to the path of development.
Let me also draw our attention to the fact that it is not how many times we amend the constitution that will guarantee our unity, development, peace, and good governance. Rather, it is how committed we are to faithfully following the constitution and obeying its provisions that will make the difference.
As citizens, we are the guardians and defenders of the constitution who can either make it work or fail by our actions or inactions. No one should be allowed to be above the constitution and at the same time, no one should be put beneath it by those in power or anyone saddled with the privilege of implementing any part of it. The rule of law must prevail at all times to guarantee democratic rights, freedoms and responsibilities.
I wish us all a successful public hearing and pray that this will lead to a more united, prosperous, secure and loving country. God bless Plateau State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The first citizens’ engagement in the Political Leadership Recruitment Process, ahead of the 2023 general elections in Plateau State and Nigeria at large, is to be convened by, Mr. Samson Omale, in Jos City, the capital of Plateau State, Nigeria.
The engagement, which would hold as a Town Hall Meeting in Jos, on Saturday, 29th May, 2021, alongside a Coalition of Radio Stations, would focus on “Quality Representation and Political Leadership Recruitment in the country”.
According to, Mr. Samson omale (the Convener) in a statement made available to REALITY Newspaper/Radio, “The Citizen’s Engagement would be concerned about the quality of representation and political leadership recruitment processes in the country. It is believed that, the need to begin, ahead of the 2023 general elections, such quality discussions and to interrogated, the political office seekers is important”.
Adding that, “The question of, who becomes the next Governor of National/State Assembly Members, the quality and track records of the individuals are some of the issues the Town Hall Meeting would be seeking to address”.
It should be of note that, this Town Hall Meeting to be convened by, Mr. Samson Omale, would be the first of its kind organized at the sub-national level in Nigeria.
In preparation for the implementation of the World Bank Funded COVID-19 Action Economic Stimulus Program for Result (NG-CARES), Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has inaugurated a Steering Committee that would supervise the implementation of the program in the State.

According to a Plateau State Government Press Release, signed by Dr. Makut Simon Macham, his Director of Press and Public Affairs, dated, 25th May, 2021, while inaugurating the Steering Committee at the Government House Rayfield Jos, the Governor said Plateau State is fully ready to participate in the implementation of the Program which is financed by the World Bank and has fulfilled the requirements to access to $20 million dollars (over 8 billion naira) from the $750 million dollars granted to the Federal Government to address the negative consequences of Covid-19 on our economy.
He said, “We are all witnesses to the fact that Covid-19 has severely affected the lives of our citizens and that of the State in General. This has exposed poor and vulnerable households to challenges in multiple fronts. These include job losses; losses in business incomes; food insecurity; and general inability to obtain basic services for day to day living. This is even worsened by the drastic fall in Government revenues”.
Lalong said, “The programme is commendable as it would assist the State to mitigate the impact of the pandemic. In ensuring that our people benefit, Plateau State opted to implement all the three Result Areas of the programme because of their expected social intervention impacts on the economy”.
The Governor said over 60,129 citizens of Plateau State are expected to benefit from the project which has the potential of transforming the landscape of the State economy.
Among other things, the State CARES Steering Committee (SCSC) will be responsible for providing oversight direction to the implementing agencies; approving their work plans and budgets; ensuring that funds are released to delivery platforms in accordance with the funds flow agreement; as well as, ensuring that there is full compliance with the Program Appraisal Document.
Lalong also warned that his administration will not tolerate failure. He said, “I shall be personally monitoring your activities to ensure that the State gets maximum benefit from its participation. Any act of non-performance or willful sabotage will not be tolerated in this program. Since this is an emergency operation with clearly spelled out guidelines, each platform should work within the confine of its responsibilities to avoid task conflict which could affect performance”.

The main Aspirant for Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency of Plateau State rerun, Hon. Audu Ado Adere has frowned at the killings of children and women in Dong Kasa in Jos North and Kwi in Riyom Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Plateau State.
The former Lawmaker, who was a member the Plateau State House of Assembly and former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Congress Committee for 2021 said he is deeply saddened by the reoccurrence of the killings in the state.
Hon. Adere, in a statement yesterday, described the act as, “barbaric, callous and a desperate attempt to rupture the peace and security in the two LGAs and the State at large”.
While commiserating with the families that lost loved ones and valuables in the two separate attacks (Dong Kasa and Kwi), Hon. Audu Ado Adere, called on security operatives, to put in more efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
You would recall that, Hon. Adere, is aspiring to fill the Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency’s vacant seat at the National Assembly under the platform of the PDP.
The Plateau State Government says it is deeply saddened by the reoccurrence of violence in parts of Dong Kasa in Jos North Local Government Area (LGA) and Kwi in Riyom on Sunday night where innocent citizens including children and women were murdered in cold blood.
Plateau State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Hon. Dan Manjang, in a statement, dated, 24th May, 2021, described the act as “barbaric, callous and a desperate attempt to rupture the peace and security of the State”.
While commiserating with families that lost loved ones and valuables in the two separate attacks, Manjang said Governor Simon Lalong is deeply distressed by the incident and has vowed to ensure that the cherished values of peace and security and the sanctity of lives remains sacrosanct in the State.
Manjang emphasized that, “The Administration would continue to take measures and work hand in hand with security agencies for the protection of lives and property of citizens”.
He stated that, “As soon as the Government was alerted about the attack, it quickly reached out to security agencies, which responded immediately and have been in pursuit of the attackers with a view to apprehending them and bringing them to justice”.
The Commissioner reiterated that, the capacity of the security agencies for rapid response and intervention will be boosted once the approved 50 patrol vehicles and 200 security motorcycles are supplied.
Manjang assured the citizens of the state that, “The Rescue Administration through the Plateau Peace Building Agency, State Inter Religious Council and other non State actors will continue to strengthen the peace and cohesion of people of the state while criminals are fished out and dealt with according to the law”.
He also encourages citizens to continue to provide useful information that will lead to the prevention of crime and arrest of criminals, assuring the Government is resolved not allow anyone or group to return the state to the dark days of sorrow, tears and blood.
The Air Officer Commanding, Special Operations Bauchi, Air Vice Marshal Charles Ohwo said on Tuesday that over 2000 patients are expected to benefit from Force’s medical outreach in Ganjuwa local government area of the state.
AVM Ohwo who made this known at the Kafin Madaki central Primary School, the venue of the medical outreach, noted that the gesture was part of NAF’s week to mark its 57th anniversary.
Air Vice Marshal Charles Ohwo said that the free medical outreach is targeted at over 2000 beneficiaries in the host community of Kafin Madaki.
AVM Ohwo who noted that the programme commences with de-warming of Children and distribution of mosquito nets, noted that services such as Dental, Eye treatment and other health care services are also going to be provided free of charge.
He said that the NAF under the leadership of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshall IO Amao DFS, decided to carry out a one-day medical outreach in order to enhance cordial coexistence between its officers and the host communities by providing access to health care delivery and other humanitarian Services.
AVM Ohwo who chronicled that NAF was created in April 1964, added that the medical outreach was in line with the Nigerian Air Force’s culture of giving back to the community.
“As part of the one week programme, is the medical outreach programme we are conducting today. This outreach is intended to provide quality and comprehensive medical care for over 2,000 persons”, he explained.
He said, “in the course of this one-day outreach, various medical conditions would be diagnosed and treated, while those with complex cases would be referred to the 261 Nigerian Air Force Reference Hospital, Bauchi for further evaluation and expert care”.
AVM Ohwo noted that there would also be health education, Counseling, Dental Screening, free medicated glasses, screening for Hypertension, basic laboratory screening and free drugs amongst other services.
While urging the host community to avail themselves for the opportunity, the AVM expressed believe that the gesture will go a long way in helping to improve the overall health of the beneficiaries and reduce mortality from preventable diseases.
According to Ohwo, NAF has over the years, apart from defending the territorial integrity of the country, re-affirms its commitment to periodically reach out to host communities by providing the much needed preventive health services as part of its civil-military relations and social responsibility.
He expressed gratitude to the government and the people of Bauchi state for According the NAF warm, cordial and peaceful coexistence.
In a keynote address, the state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aliyu Maigoro, thanked the Nigerian Air force for the gesture, adding that, it will go a long way in assisting the beneficiaries live a healthy life.
Dr. Maigoro, who was the Guest of Honour at the occasion, said apart from helping the beneficiaries, the gesture is going to go a long way in complimenting government’s efforts towards providing a sound Health care services to the good people of Bauchi state.
Speaking in a short interview with journalists, the village head of Kafin Madaki, Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu said that entire people of the area are grateful to NAF for the gesture, adding that it will help the beneficiaries recover from various ailments.
One of the beneficiaries, a 65 year old Shehu Dan-Rimi who has been battling with eye problem for seven years, expressed appreciation that he has been checked by the Doctors and giving all the required medications free of charge for the ailment.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has scheduled Saturday (tomorrow) to pray for divine intervention on the insecurity facing the country that has claimed many lives and properties of innocent citizens.
The prayer meeting tagged ‘Come, let’s rebuild the Broken Wall’ will hold at the CAN center in Bauchi during which selected men of God will lead various prayer sessions for peace and tranquility in the state in particular and the country as a whole.
While briefing news men last week Friday, Chairman of CAN in Bauchi State, Rev. Dr. Abraham Damina Dimeus explained that, the prayer meeting became necessary considering the spate of insecurity in the country.
Damina, decried that the situation in the country has become so bad that no one knows what happens to him or her next thereby restricting their movements to one place, a development he said has cause uncertainties in the minds of the people.
“We as Christians must not just sit down watching the situation degenerating to a situation that may be irredeemable, we must stand up to fight the spiritual battle, seek the face of God for divine intervention in the situation”, he said.
He further said that, the only way things can get better for the country is to hand over the situation to God because according to him, “We have such history in the Bible but with the divine intervention of God, the situation was reversed positively. We can still do it now because it is the same God yesterday, today and tomorrow”.
The Clergyman called on Christians in the state to turnout and be part of the prayer meeting which text is drawn from the book of Nehemiah 2:17 when Prophet Nehemiah returned to God while in captivity for the rebuilding of the fallen walls of Jerusalem.

First in the list for this weekend, is Hon. Audu Ado Adere, a former member of the Plateau State House of Assembly and former member of Plateau State chapter, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee for the 2021 Congress.
Most of the aspirants, who had declared their intentions to contest the forthcoming Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency of Plateau State rerun election, to fill the vacant seat at the Lower Chambers of the National Assembly, seem to have kept their activities on hold as, Hon. Audu Ado Adere, emerged with a swift, projected and purpose driven consultations across the two Local Government Areas (LGAs). REALITY can authoritatively state.
REALITY also gathered that, Hon. Adere had earlier declared his intention to vie for the seat, which became vacant as a result of the sudden demise of the former occupant, Hon. Haruna Maitala in a ghastly road accident recently to political heavy weights in the two LGAs and in the presence of other potential contenders.
From the outlook, there is a strong indication that, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), may be calling for a primary election to enable members of the party in the two LGAs elect their candidate, who would effectively square up with any candidate to be nominated/elected by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) among other political parties, set for the rerun.
You would recall that, REALITY had reported that, Hon. Adere has been under pressure from his friends, party faithful and political associates to contest the election.
From investigations, Hon. Adere has started consultations across the two LGAs, on the way forward with elders, youths and political mentors.

The Northern Governors Forum (NGF) has called for calm and dialogue in resolving the ongoing face-off between the Kaduna State Government and organized labour over purported plans by the Kaduna State Government to right-size its workforce.
Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Plateau State Simon Bako Lalong in a statement said the Forum is concerned about the impact of the strike on the State and its citizens.
While calling for dialogue and negotiations which is a long standing dispute mechanism in labour relations, the Northern Governors called for restraint and de-escalation of the situation to enable an amicable settlement of the issues in question.
In a press statement signed and made available to media houses, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Chairman, Northern Governors Forum, dated, 18th May 2021, Governor Lalong said, “This is only possible when both parties operate within the law and approved conventions in ventilating their grievances, as well as, avoid making comments or taking actions that will further exacerbate the situation thereby heightening tension”.
In another development in Abuja, Governor Lalong, who doubles as the Chairman Northern Governors Forum has warned that, “Unless Nigerians stand against ethnic, religious and political profiling in running the affairs of the country, the search for peace and unity will remain elusive”.
Governor Lalong, according to a press statement signed and distributed by, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, who also doubles as the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor of Plateau State, dated, 19th May 2021, disclosed that Governor Lalong gave this advice, while speaking at the 2nd Quarter, 2021 Meeting of the Nigerian Inter Religious Council (NIREC) in Abuja.
The Governor said, “Nigeria is a diverse country with people of different backgrounds and choices which should not be used against them in any way”.
Adding that, “We have to put humanity above any other consideration because, when we judge people by their ethnicity, religion or other leanings, we miss their potentials because, profiling influences the marginalization of people without reason.
“For instance, we have to treat crime as crime and isolate criminals rather than covering their actions by where they come from or their religion. This further creates disunity and division”.
Governor Lalong said, his administration in Plateau State has ensured that people get what they deserve irrespective of their backgrounds. This he said has brought about peace and tolerance which has now restored calm in the State.
Plateau State Northern Senatorial Zone Women Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have collectively, passed a Vote of Confidence on the State Chairman of the Party, Hon. Chris Hassan and his EXCO.
According to the women, who paid a courtesy call on the Chairman in his office yesterday, the need to express their support and faith in the administration of the Chairman became necessary, after observing his determination with his EXCO to keep the state chapter, as one united family.

In his response to the sudden position of the Women Leaders, Hon. Chris said, “I am so delighted, I am happy and short of words to express my joy for this visit”.

Giving details of what he has so far experienced in office, the Chairman told the Women Leaders that, he met close to 48 Court cases pending in Courts across the state, but owing to his efforts and that of the EXCO, the cases have reduced to 12. Adding that, in a short time most would still be dispensed with.
“He disclosed to them that, Plateau State PDP has always been in the first line in taking women issues to the table and that will never change”.
“We as EXCO would also be looking more on how Women can grow from the Local, State and to the National level”. He added.
Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong has expressed deep shock over the death of former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Joshua Nimyel Dogonyaro, who died at the age of 80.
Governor Lalong, while reacting to the death of Gen. Dogonyaro said Plateau State and the nation have lost a patriotic and loyal Nigerian, who served with courage, dignity and selflessness.
He recalled the achievements of late Gen. Dogonyaro during his career in the Army where he held several command positions and accomplished his assignments with tremendous success.
According to the Governor, “Plateau State has lost an elder statesman whose outstanding achievements in his military career brought a lot of pride and honour for the State. The commitment of the deceased towards the defence of Nigeria’s territorial integrity and well as ensuring its peace and unity stood him out as a soldier of repute whose professionalism continues to inspire many younger ones”.
Lalong also said his outstanding leadership in the course of Nigeria’s contributions to international peace keeping efforts, particularly, when he served as ECOMOG Field Commander in Liberia remains a reference point to the gallantry of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Governor Lalong said Gen. Dogonyaro never hesitated to offer Plateau State and the nation his wealth of experience and knowledge particularly, towards tackling security challenges of insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and other crimes.
He expressed his condolences to the family and people of Plateau State over this sad loss.
As the Muslim community in Plateau State joins the rest of the world to mark the Eid-el-ftr, marking the end of the Ramadan fast, Governor Simon Bako Lalong has asked them to continue to live up to the tenets of their faith and allow the benefits of the just concluded fasting reflect in their character and actions.
Governor Lalong gave this charge, while congratulating Muslim Ummah, for a successful Ramadan fast.
In a Sallah message by the Governor Signed by, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, his Director of Press and Public Affairs, dated, 13th May, 2021, Governor Lalong said, ‘the current challenges Nigeria is witnessing particularly insecurity require not only prayers, but commitment from all citizens to change the tide”.
Lalong also acknowledges that, “though the Government has the major responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens, such duty only succeeds when the people give the government the necessary support”.

Hon. Jonathan Dabo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general election for Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency of Plateau State has called on all Muslim faithful to reflect on the spiritual teachings of their faith, as they celebrate Sallah.

Hon. Dabo, who was a former Chairman of Bassa Local Government in Plateau State, in his Sallah message, while felicitating with the Muslim Ummah, congratulated them for a successful completion of the Ramadan fasting.
“As you complete one of the major five pillars of Islam through fasting, I pray the reward come upon you all”. Hon. Dabo stated.
Adding that, “the significance of the celebration is not limited to having completed the fasting. The Ramadan exercise calls for a total reminder of the spiritual principles of Islam and to be steadfast in the pursuit to attain piety, Allah spiritual rejuvenation and favour”.

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State said on Thursday that, the Federal government of Nigeria has lost the idea of how to grow the country’s economy.
Bala made the observation, Thursday, while Fielding questions from journalists at the Government House on what should be done to grow the economy of the country in the midst of its poverty level.
The Governor, who further said that the present Federal Government lacks the idea to grow the economy, explained that, what they knew best is “to only involve in a blame game”.
“I think the economy should be grown. I am not talking as an opposition, I think the Federal government has lost any idea to grow the economy, they are just involved in a blame game, what they are known best for, is blame game”, the Governor said.
According to him, “they are always saying this and that, and they are not even fighting the corruption they said they are fighting”, Bala added.
Governor Bala, who pointed out that there is more corruption in the country now, explained that, “perceptions are built that there are sacred cows, there are tin gods in this country that cannot be touched”.
He said that, any government that is not fair and equitable in its administration or management cannot grow the economy.
Bala, who said there is bound to be problem with any government that is involved in nepotism where only one section is given attention said “what the southern governors said is part of some aspects of truth, where some people were given too much attention to the detriment of others”.
He further said, “what we know in this country is, there should always be a balance in terms of appointments in federal offices, in terms of appointments even at the local level because if you don’t practice fairness at the top, then you cannot get it at the Federal level and people will begin to think of self actualization, self determination and so on and so forth.
“It will be thought negatively unless we show fairness and equity in the leadership of this country; we cannot grow the economy because perceptions will be there. That is my take”, Governor Bala said.
The Northern Governors Forum (NGF) has felicitated with the Muslim ummah, as they mark this year’s Eid-el-ftr, calling for more prayers for the unity, peace and progress of the nation.
Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong, while wishing Nigerians a happy festive period prayed that, “it would be spent in peace and love”.
In his message, Governor Lalong said, “although Nigeria is going through troubling times, hope must not be lost because hard times do not last forever”.

Lalong also urged Nigerians, particularly political and religious leaders, to avoid rhetoric that further inflames passions and further divides the nation along religious, ethnic and parochial sentiments.
