The Federal Government has assured the Government and people of Nasarawa State that, it would engage development partners to invest in Farin Ruwa Waterfalls in Wamba Local Government Area (LGA) of the State, to harness God given tourism potentials at the water falls.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alh. Lai Mohammed disclosed this, while on a visit to Farin Ruwa Waterfalls in Wamba LGA, over the weekend..
Alh. Lai said that, the means to develop the Farin Ruwa Water Falls was to construct the road leading to the falls to pave way for development of infrastructure in order to attract tourists.
Lai, if you would recall, has always emphasized that, the key to open tourism potentials in the country or part of the world is the opening up of roads leaking such naturally endowed areas for easy access to tap such endowment.
The Minister appealed to both the Federal and state Legislators to work towards giving the legal backing for the construction of the road leading to the waterfalls and also make it part of their Constituency Project.
He said, “What we have seen here is quite enthralling. It is not something you see in many part of the world. I think it is important to us to invest in infrastructure so that, this wonders of the world would be make available to everyone”.
Alh. Lai, told the gathering that, government alone cannot do it alone. He therefore urged them to take the opportunity and invite the private sector to invest in building the infrastructure that would hasten the speedy development of the area
In his remark at the occasion, the State Deputy Governor, Emmanuel Akabe, who led the Minister and his team to Farin Ruwa Waterfalls, praised the Minister for the visit.
