LAND GRABBING LAW: HOW GOV. LALONG LIBERATED PLATEAU STATE FOR LIFE

By: Valentine Adese (JP),

The Governor of Plateau State, Dr. Simon Bako Laong is yet to be celebrated by his OWN people, over the Land grabbing Bill and other matters he recently signed into Law. This is owing to the fact that, the people of the state are yet to make a social analysis of the effects of the Law.

With the existence of the Law today, it is clear that, all efforts and acts that have been put in over decades to grab land and expel the indigenous people of the state from their ancestral lands, have been substantially and effectively addressed and put to reset.

GOV. LALONG

From the provisions of the Law, the Berom people in Riyom, Barkinladi and Jos-South Local Government Areas of the state, have every need to celebrate and be thankful to God and the amiable Governor for taking the huge step, despite all odds and perceived threats to sign the Land Grabbing Bill passed by the State House of Assembly into Law.

Added to this, is the fact that, the villages of the Berom people and other indigenous tribes in the state currently been occupied by strange land grabbers, have now been fully recovered by the operation of the State Law signed by Governor Lalong, without shooting a single bullet.

It no longer news that, over 56 Berom villages are already under siege and occupied, while the indigenous people are leaving in IDP camps across the state.

DETAILS OF THE LAW COMING SOON
