Finally, the Member representing Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency of Plateau State has opened up and has reiterated his love for his Constituents and Constituency.
Hon. Haruna Maitala, in an exclusive interview with REALITY today, disclosed that he is not angry over any position that any of his constituents may have taken against him.
The Hon. Member blamed all that has happened on the challenges of time and the “Will of Allah”. He said his doors are still opened for vibrant ideas that would bring unity, peace and development to the two Local Governments (Jos-North/Bassa).
Maitala further disclosed that, his empowerment program is slated for mid December 2020, as he intends to kick start with the empowerment of 1000 people in the constituency, this coming Saturday, 21st November, 2020.
“Why would one anticipate that I don’t love my constituents? I have lived with these people all my life. I lived in Jengre. Is there a place and people that I can love more?
“What happened in the past was caused by uncontrollable challenges. I was dragged to the Tribunal over my victory by the opposition and later to the Court of Appeal and it caused me huge distractions among others.
“After this the Coronavirus pandemic came and I had to distribute palliatives to the constituents to the best of my ability. This is a fact and you can check this.
“While in the struggle to find my feet at the National Assembly, I was able to sponsor some members of my constituency to pursue their academic careers, while for others, especially, some youths, I was able to pay for their exams, such as, WAEC and JAMB.
“I love my Constituency. I grew up there in Jengre!
As at today I want to inform you that there is going to be an empowerment program by Saturday, 21st November, 2020 and close to 1000 people are going to benefit from it, while my major empowerment program is slated for mid December, 2020. I expect you to be there!
I want everybody to know that I hold no grudge against anyone especially in my constituency, irrespective of his or her opinion(s) against or for me. My doors are still very open for constructive engagements.
