The Plateau State High Court, presided over by Hon. Justice S. P. Gang has fixed the 18th of December, 2020, for ruling on the suit filed by Mr. Sunday S. Sule, (Carrying on business under the name and style of the HEADLINE News Communication Venture) against the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Plateau State Chapter and 17 Local Government Councils.
You would recall that, REALITY had reported that, the Suit No. PLD/J406M/2020, filed by Mr. Sunday S. Sule, has been marked by the Court as UNDEFENDED LIST.
The Court had granted the Order, upon the consideration of the Motion Exparte, dated and filed on 31/08/2020, supported by 21 paragraph affidavit, sworn to by the Applicant himself, Mr. Sule Sunday, as well as, Counsel’s written address praying the Honourable Court for the reliefs sought.
After hearing, M. A. Dawan Esq, with R. N. Piwuna Esq, Counsels for the Applicant, the Court granted the Orders sought.
The Court had also ordered the placement of the suit for hearing on the UNDEFENDED LIST.
According to the Court Order issued, dated on 8th September, 2020, by the Court, the suit was adjourned to the 4/11/2020, being yesterday for definite hearing.
Other Defendants in the suit apart from ALGON are, Barkin Ladi, Bassa, Bokkos, Jos North, Jos South, Kanam, Kanke, Langtang North, Langtang South, Mangu, Mikang, Pankshin, Quaanpan, Riyom Shendam Wase and Jos East Local Government Councils.
However, at the hearing of the suit on the 4th of November 2020 (yesterday), the Court was informed by S. S. Obende, of S. S. Obende & Co, Counsel to the Plaintiff that, the 1st Defendant had not filed defence, while other Defendants were represent by their Counsel, who filed a motion for appearance and to defend the 2nd to the 18th Defendants.
After hearing Counsels in the suit move their respective Motions, the Court has adjourned the matter to 18th December for ruling.
