The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seems to have shunned information making the rounds in the state that, Sen. Jeremiah Useni and some aggrieved members of the Chapter want to constitute a parallel party structure in the state.
You would recall that, the State Congress of the party held on Saturday, the 29th of August, in which Hon. Chris Hassan emerged as State Chairman alongside other elected officers.
It is of note that the State Congress conducted by the Congress Committee was set up by the National Office of the PDP under the leadership of Maj. Gen. Amnon Kalayi Kwaskebe.
Earlier, before the State Congress, a new Caretaker Committee was reconstituted by the National Headquarters and led by Senator Suleiman Adokwe, as Chairman, who was briefed by the now dissolved Caretaker Committee Chairman, Hon. Yakubu Chocho.
In a press briefing this morning, the Sen. Useni led group has described the State Congress of Saturday, as a mere meeting of Sen. Jonah Jang’s faction of the Chapter.
They even faulted the Congress Committee and the Adokwe led Caretaker Committee, for inadequate arrangement, “as they were yet to reconcile the alleged factions before conducting the State Congress, despite the fact that they are given 90 days to clear grey areas in the conflict”.
Despite this development, the newly elected EXCO of the party in the state seem to have kept deaf ears as they have kick started their administrative responsibilities and other reconciliatory visitation.
The EXCO led by its Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan also held a meeting today at the State party secretariat. REALITY can authoritatively report.
From information reaching the news desk of REALITY, while preparing this report, Sen. Useni and his aggrieved group, intends to carve out a parallel PDP in Plateau state, immediately he returns from Abuja.
