PLATEAU: IT IS TIME TO RE-STRATEGIES, BUILD COHESION AND DISCIPLINE IN PDP—- MR. ISAAC WADAK, SEN. JONAH JANG

By: Valentine Adese (JP),

With the successful conduct of the Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party’s State Congress, stakeholders of the party have called for the building of the party along disciplinary line and better cohesion.

The immediate past Governor of Plateau State and Senator, who represented Plateau North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Jonah David Jang, has urged the new Executive Committee (EXCO) led by its Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan, to rebuild, re-strategize, and build cohesion in the party, while working assiduously for the party to take its rightful place at the helm of affairs, state wise and nationally.

Accord to Sen. Jang, the rebuilding would help to renew the trust the people have for the party and also enable the PDP kick out the “nonperforming APC”.

Sen. Jang, in a press release signed by his Media consultant, Mr. Clinton Garuba, in part, stated that, “I also want to congratulate the newly elected state executives led by Mr. Chris Hassan on their victory at the polls. This victory is a clarion call to rebuild, re-strategize, build cohesion in the party, work assiduously for the PDP to take her rightful place at the helm of affairs, state wise, nationally; to renew the trust the people have in the PDP and kick out the nonperforming APC led administration, at all levels, who have not just failed woefully, but also displayed an unprecedented level of ineptitude and deceit”.

Joining his voice in urging the new EXCO to re-build the Plateau State chapter of the party, Mr. Isaac Wadak, a former Permanent Secretary in the State and one of the major stakeholders in Kanke Local Government (LG) chapter of the PDP, also called on the new EXCO, to “build a strong institution and not individuals”.

MR. ISAAC WADAK

Mr. Isaac Wadak in a telephone interaction with REALITY opined that, the struggle of the chapter is not about Sen. Jang and Sen. Useni. So, “the teeming supporters of the party should not be misled”.

According to Mr. Wadak, “The struggle is about those, who want PDP to survive in Plateau State and those, who want to kill it”.

“They need to be told that, PDP is not one of the 5 fingers of a leprosy hand, but a party built on a foundation meant to root out undemocratic forces.

“Party structure must be established with protocols and its Constitution must be respected. We must build strong institutions and not individuals. Institutions will outlive each one of us”.

“This therefore calls for serious disciplinary action. We are not oblivious of the party’s letter head that was misused or abnormally used to communicate a phantom Caretaker Committee “. He opined.

Press Statement

The immediate past Governor of Plateau State and former Senator representing Plateau North at the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Jonah David Jang, thanks the National Working Committee of our great party PDP, Plateau state PDP, the Electoral Committee and all the PDP family on the Plateau for the successful conduct of the state congress of our great party PDP.

I also want to congratulate the newly elected state executives led by Mr. Chris Hassan on their victory at the polls. This victory is a clarion call to rebuild, re-strategize, build cohesion in the party, work assiduously for the PDP to take her rightful place at the helm of affairs, state wise, nationally; to renew the trust the people have in the PDP and kick out the nonperforming APC led administration, at all levels, who have not just failed woefully, but also displayed an unprecedented level of ineptitude and deceit.

As a founding father, my heart bleeds as the APC led administration in the state ridicule good governance, tenets of democracy and subject the good people of Plateau State to untold hardship.

The newly elected Excos, must be magnanimous in victory and as a matter of urgency, pursue genuine reconciliation, as every well meaning member is needed to take back the state and the nation at large, from these political scapegraces.

Thank You.
Clinton Garuba
Media consultant to Senator Jonah David Jang.
