PLATEAU: RT. HON. GAGDI URGES PLATEAU STATE GOVT TO USE ALL AVENUES TO ENCOURAGE EXPLORATION OF OIL IN KANAM AND WASE LGAs

 The Member representing the good people of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam at the Lower Chambers of the National Assembly (NASS), who doubles as the Chairman House Committee on Nigerian Navy, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, has called on the Plateau State Government led by Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, to take the exploration of oil in Kanam and Wase Local Government Areas of the state very seriously.

He also urged the state government to use all avenues available to it, to get the job done for the benefit of the people of the state and Nigeria at large.

Gagdi, in a Press Statement made available to REALITY stated that, “I enjoin the Plateau State Government to use all avenues at its disposal to ensure oil exploration on these identified sites come to fruition, while the immediate communities give their maximum cooperation to government and its officials in pursuance of this lofty achievements.”

While expressing his joy and happiness over the recent disclosure of the discovery of large deposit of oil in Kanam and Wase Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Plateau State, by the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC), Rt. Hon. Gagdi stated that, the news of the discovery is received, “With high expectations by the named communities for its economic benefits, not only to the immediate communities, but to the State and Nigeria at large.”

Adding that, “I am particularly happy for the people of Kanam LGA, in whose domain such development is discovered, because of its economic advantage to the immediate community in terms of job creation and physical development that is bound to be witnessed by reason of the oil exploration in their locality.

“On behalf of the people of Kanam LGA, and by extension, PKK, I appreciate the NNPC for embarking on such a gainful venture, and the Plateau State government for providing the enabling environment for the survey to yield the desired result.”
