Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, expressly explained that, if he had inherited enough resources from his predecessor, he would have achieved much more than he has so far done.

Governor Sule, while fielding answers to questions from Newsmen in Nasarawa State being part of activities planned to mark his one year in office, while appreciating Journalist in the state said though he has continually received bombardments from them and questions on how much money he inherited from his predecessor, he advised them to send such questions directly to his predecessor, whom he said, “Is in a better position to answer it better than him.”

Engr. Sule, who disclosed that he detest going deep into his predecessor’s profile, simply said, “If much was left for me, it would have been noticed on the number of projects that I have constructed so far, among other achievements on ground!”

Governor Sule said the provision of a conducive working environment for Journalists would continue to be his top priority, adding that, the current ongoing renovation of the NUJ press center, along Makurdi road Lafia is in fulfillment of this ideal, while appealing to Media Practitioners in the state to reciprocate his kind gesture by putting in their best.

Although the Governor praised his predecessor, over what he described, as putting on the tripod of speedy development, Engr Sule, was quick to add that, “I will go ahead with the completion of some those uncompleted projects that time did not allowed my predecessor to complete.”

The State Chief Executive, who noted with sadness that the outbreak of COVID 19 has taken the chunk of the state resources, however, stated that his administration would be looking inwards for other sources of generating revenue, as soon as possible as the government makes efforts at reviewing the state Budget by 90 percent, in order to make up for the loses.

On slogans being thrown at him in public places by most that are dissatisfied with his performance so far that, he would only be in the government house for one term, Governor Sule, while expressing joy, praised God for giving him the privilege to serve his state, as Governor for a four year single term.

“Oh! What a rare opportunity given to me by Allah the Merciful to serve in this capacity for a single term, I am indeed very grateful to you! He exclaimed.

He said he has never and would never allow the insinuating by such mischief distract his focus of bringing the dividends of democracy to the people especially those at the grass-root.

“If that is what God has destined for me, I will simply retire to America or Saudi Arabia and take my long rest”. He declared.
