PLATEAU PDP: WE KNOW THE CONSTITUTION, WE ARE NOT ILLEGAL, WE WILL SANCTION ANY NWC MEMBER WHO INTERLOPES—HON. NANDOM AND GROUP WARN

By: Valentine Adese (JP), Eunice Maina and Musa Gabriel,

The Nandom Exodus’s self styled Caretaker Committee in Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has maintained its position that, they are not illegally constituted, owing to the alleged ground that, the tenure of the EXCO led by Hon. Gwott Chocho has lapsed.

The self styled EXCO, in their response to the letter of the North Central Zone office of the party has insisted that, they remain legal going by their knowledge of the provisions of the party’s Constitution.

You would recall that, the Zonal office in its reaction to the emergence of Nandom’s Committee, though more visible online and in social media platforms, had in its letter, dated, the 16th of May, 2020, described the move as, crass insubordination and gross violation of the PDP’s Constitution.

As an advice, the Zonal office had advised Hon. Nandom and his Caretaker group to tender an unreserved apology to the State and Zonal leaderships.

HON. NANDOM

However, while responding to this line of directives from the Zonal office, Nandom’s Publicity Secretary, Hon. Akims Mamot James, warned that, the new Caretaker committee would sanction anybody disrespecting the leadership of Hon. Nandom and would not hesitate to sanction any interloper from the National Working Committee (NWC).

“We are not begging the North Central Zone office to accept the actions of our Leaders. We know our problems better than you do! We will not tolerate any unguarded utterances against our Leaders and critical stakeholders of our party from you.” Nandom’s Committee warns.

In part, Hon. Akims Mamot James, in his reply to the Zonal office of the PDP stated that, “We are aware by Law that only the NWC of the party is responsible for appointing Caretaker Committee and the appointment letters must be Signed by the National Chairman and Secretary of the party, NOT the National Organizing Secretary.

“Plateau issue is not elections matters, it is a matter of injustice, distrust and the expiration of the tenure of the out gone Excos.

“We appreciate the fact that, you recognize the crisis situation in PDP Plateau State, the crisis is caused by the out gone Excos and we are happy the out gone Excos have gone for good!

“The National Working Committee (NWC) and the National Executive Committee (NEC) led by his Excellency, Prince Uche Secondus are aware of the Plateau State PDP issue. We have sent a letter to him, they have also communicated the leaders of the party in Plateau on how to find lasting solution(s) to Plateau PDP issues.

“We are not begging the North Central Zone office to accept the actions of our Leaders. We know our problems better than you do! We will not tolerate any unguarded utterances against our Leaders and critical stakeholders of our party from you.

“If truly the North Central Zone Leadership are aware of issues emanating from the Ward and Local Government Congresses, which were caused by the out gone Excos, then why are you bent on illegally appointing them to continue, as Caretaker Committee, while you know fully-well that, they are seeking re-election. What then becomes the fate of other aspirants?

“It shows clearly that you are equally an interested party.

“We will not tender any apology letter to anybody, we have not committed any illegality in our actions, we know the constitution and our actions are constitutional!

“We have lost confidence in the out gone Excos and it can’t be regained. They have gone for good!

“Genuine PDP members in Plateau State are happy with the emergence of Hon. Nandom Exo Pyennap’s led Caretaker Committee. The Committee has assured members of an all inclusive administration. It is Hon. Nandom Exo Pyennap, that we know as Caretaker Committee Chairman of Plateau State PDP.

“We remain loyal, committed and happy with the leadership style of His Excellency Prince Uche Secondus, urging him to keep uniting PDP at all levels. We equally request that you use your office to look into the issue of Plateau State and also request that members of the NWC who are bent on creating problems to PDP Plateau State, be cautioned to desist from it or face Sanctions.”

“We need Peace to reign in PDP Plateau State, we are ready to plan and mobilize our members towards bouncing back to power by 2023.”

However REALITY has reproduced the response of Hon. Akims below (GRAMMATICAL ERRORS NOT OURS):-
