At last, the much awaited confirmation of whether, Hon. Amos Gombi, the incumbent Deputy Chairman of the Plateau State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), did not showed up for the slated screening of candidates ahead of the State Congress has finally hit REALITY News desk.
Confirming, Hon. Amos Gombi’s absence through a text message and in answering the confirmation request of this paper concerning his absence, the Chairman of the State Chapter, Hon. Gwott Yakubu Chocho in a text message this evening stated that, “Yes, he did not, but gave apology.”
You would recall that, EALITY had reported earlier today that, there is a strong believe among the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in the state that, some of the seats of the state chapter’s EXCO may be going unopposed, owing to, the situation and need of the chapter to embrace peace after a prolonged crisis.
And that, through the Congresses, from the Wards to the Local Government Congresses, REALITY had observed that, consensus have been used as the tool for the emergence of leaders at those levels. It is therefore, also believed by pundits that, most likely, the State Congress, may produce leaders using the same method.
Furthermore, REALITY had reported that, one of the sensitive positions that, had continued to draw the interest of members of the party from the Central Zone of the state is that of the Deputy Chairman of the chapter, because of the involvement of the incumbent, Hon. Amos Gombi, in the just settled crisis in the party and the way he allegedly rocked the chapter.
With the prediction by pundits in the state that, Hon. Gombi, may not come forward for screening in order to avoid alleged defeat, coming true, the effect of none appearance and disqualification also predicted by the pundits, may be heading at Hon. Gombi’s door step, while Capt. Capt. Bitrus Yilkudi Golen (Rtd), may be sailing through to be a member of the state EXCO.
