Although the Governor, in his speech at the occasion, stated that politicking, campaigns and elections have come and gone and that it was time to build on the past achievements of his administration, especially, in the area of peaceful co-existence, Sen. GOV. LALONG AND HIS DEPUTY , PROF. TYODEN SHOWCASING THEIR CERTIFICATE OF RETURNS

Hon. Alex Kwapnoe

I feel elated as the Governor is receiving his Certificate of Return from INEC. This is because, it cements and symbolizes the Plateau State Project and the trust that the people have in his administration.

He has proven that by his action(s), particularly, the completion of most strategic projects that past administrations have left behind. If it were somebody else, he would have abandoned them. He has further exposed the inner characteristics of a Plateau man, towards peace and peaceful co-existence these last four years.

HON. ALEX

We have experienced nights of good sleep through this last four years, which is a departure from the past. Don’t forget the bombs that have seized in Churches among other places. This new administration commencing on May 29th would be a consolidation of that fact,

We want to however, see him developing the Educational Sector and all the needed infrastructure including, human capital development. The fact is that, the state is lacking behind in these areas.

I must however state that the Governor has tried in paying salaries to the state’s civil servants. You know the state incurs huge amount on payment of wages. I think the Governor would have to look at this area. The governor must use this time to also create new jobs among others in order to balance the masses earnings.

I wish Governor Lalong the same peaceful four years, a life to live and live within this period and beyond. I pray he does not change from the patient man that we all know. I wish he stays the way he is and avoid any controversy like other contemporaries of his in other states.

Finally, He should carry everybody along as winners and losers!

Hon. John Dafan (Chief of Staff Government House):-

JOHN DAFAN

The better beneficiary of this development is the Plateau people.

This is a show of further trust that is placed on the administration of Governor Lalong to continue with what he has started. I believe the Governor now has the opportunity to write off some wrongs. You know in life, nobody is perfect!

So, there must be some areas of wrongs in the course of the last four years.

This also, is an opportunity to consolidate on the gains and achievements of the last four years.

In the next level, people of Plateau should expect great and greater service delivery from this administration.

Sen. Lar:-

As a democrat, I am excited!

Especially that we have successfully transited from civil rule to civil rule.

As a democrat, I am excited that, elections have been conducted and the results are acceptable to majority of the people of Plateau State, more also, I am excited because, Plateau people seem to have started entrenching the culture of continuity in the state.

Virtually, all the governors that have served in the state have been give mandates of eight years each. This is quite stabilizing and encouraging. I think, this would create the enabling environment for progress.

Voters have began to identify candidates and not parties. They have also started creating trust on candidates and not political parties

The Governor should however as an advice, concentrate more on governance than on who would succeed him because, power, as we can see and testify, comes from God.

Amb. Chris Giwa:-

I call on all to continue praying for the Governor because, that is what he needs and continues to need from now!

INEC:-
