PEACE: GOV LALONG OF PLATEAU STATE, COMMENDS NIGERIAN POLICE

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state has commended the Nigerian Police (NP) for their immense contribution and support to the return of relative peace in the state.

The Governor made this commendation, while receiving the certificate for the establishment of a Police Mobile Squadron Unit in Gashish district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to a statement from the Plateau State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Yakubu Dati, the presentation was done by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, in Abuja.

According to the statement, IGP Idris was represented by the DIG Operations, Habila Joshak, at the Police Headquarters in Abuja during the presentation.

According to Dati, “it would be recalled that Governor Lalong had earlier made a request for the establishment of the Police Mobile barracks at Gashish to forestall further attacks, during the visit of President Mohammadu Buhari and the IGP to Plateau state, after incessant attacks in the area”.

Governor lalong according to the statement has further “assured citizens of the state of government’s resolve to put in place, necessary infrastructure for the sustenance of peace.”

On his part, the IGP has assured Governor Lalong that the Nigeria Police will continue to protect and safeguard the life and property of every Nigerian.
