Information just reaching the News desk of REALITY indicates that the Technical Session of Government and Citizens Groups on Operationalisation of Permanent Dialogue Mechanism is to hold again in Abuja.
You would recall that in June 2018, a framework for Permanent Dialogue Mechanism was adopted by Citizens Groups and Government officials in Abuja and the framework has been translated by partners into Hausa, Igbo and Fulfude.
Facts are that, over the years, both citizens and government have engaged in the process of governance and development to deliver services to citizens.
It is also an open knowledge that citizens’ engagement is critical in transparent and accountable governance that delivers quality services to citizens.
From records, efforts have been made in the past by Citizens and Governments to create platforms for engagement, to which the “Open Government Partnership” (OGP) has provided an opportunity to deepen and consolidate that engagement.
To achieve this engagement, the Engaged Citizens Pillar (ECP) of the Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL) REALITY can authoritatively state has invited Citizens Groups across the country, to a “one-day Technical Session of Government and Citizens Groups on Operationalisation of Permanent Dialogue Mechanism (PDM) in Abuja, Nigeria.
According to the invitation letter sited by REALITY and signed by Mr. Rommy Mom, the ECP Federal Team Leader, the main objective of the Session that is to hold at Bolton White Hotel, Area 11, Gariki Abuja by Tuesday, 23rdOctober, 2018, , “Is to agree on Operationalization of the PDM and map out strategies for in-depth engagement.”
