As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Primary draws nearer, PDP Presidential Aspirant, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has charged national delegates of the party in Plateau state to do the right thing to produce credible candidate that would deliver victory for the party in the general election slated for 2019 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Sen. Kwankwaso, gave the charge today, at the Plateau state chapter of the PDP, while canvassing for votes and support from the Plateau state national delegates ahead of the National Convention of the party.
Sen. Kwankwaso said, “In the forthcoming party primaries, I am advising the state Chairman and his delegates to do the right thing at the right time. You know before now, the people and the PDP have been asking, who will they vote for in order to win in the general elections. So, do the right thing!
According to him, Kano and Plateau states have come a long way evidently in the relationship between their fathers; late Solomon Lar and late Abubakar Rimi of Kano and that as it stands, Kano has the highest population in Nigeria.
“There is this understanding between Kano and Plateau State from time in memorial, and I am lucky to be from Kano, which has the highest population and politics is a game of number.” Sen. Kwankwaso stated.
After enumerating his achievements, while serving as the governor of Kano state, he posited that he is the right candidate to unite the nation and fight for peace without ethnic, religious or political differences. He therefore urged the party delegates to give him the support and vote for his candidature.
The Chairman of the chapter, Hon. Damishi T. Sango, who played host to the aspirant said, nothing can separate Plateau and Kano state, while emphasizing that even the Hausa spoken in Plateau State is that of Kano state.
Adding that, “Anybody, who does not know Nigeria, cannot lead Nigeria, if you served as a governor and have not served under the National Assembly (NASS) you do not know Nigeria. So, we need somebody, who will carry everybody along. Sen. Kwankwaso has Plateau State at heart. Even at the NA, he (Kwankwasiya) fought on behalf of Plateau in the bill to rebuild the North Eastern part of the country with Plateau state inclusive”.
The chairman wished the aspirant well on behalf of the delegates.
