One of the renowned Human Rights Organization, the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) has warned politicians in Nigeria and the Presidency, not to play politics with the killings in Plateau State and any other state in Nigeria.

CLO, in Press release signed by its Director of north central zone, Comrade Steve Aluko Daniel today, call on government at all levels, especially the Federal Government, the State Governors and the office of the President, to avoid playing politics with lives of innocent and peace loving citizens of Nigerian.

The Organization also condemned in strong terms the recent killing of over 120 Nigerians in Plateau State.

According to the press release, “Beyond mere visits and meetings, government must promptly take practical steps to stop this despicable act of inhumanity, arrest the perpetrators and make them face the full weight of the law. Government must timely resettled and compensate all the victims in a well secured environments.”

Adding that, “The civil liberties organization, North Central Zone, condemns the recurrence of killings, arson and maiming of Nigerians in the zone. We empathize with all victims of these avoidable deaths, destruction of lives and properties in the zone, we call on the people to remain calm, avoid the temptation of revenge and avoid people or groups that trade in mischief and promoters of cycle of genocidal hates and merchants of violence, evil and wickedness.

“We call on the government at all levels, especially the federal government and office of the President and Governor to avoid playing politics with lives of innocent and peace loving citizens of Nigerians

“Government must stop the act of giving excuses for its abdication of it constitutional responsibilities to protect lives and properties of Nigerians, to do otherwise amount to dereliction and complicity on the part of the government.”
